A self-cleaning filter is a device that uses a screen to catch floating debris, particles, and other solid impurities in liquids. It helps reduce dirt build-up, ensures the smooth operation of downstream equipment, and extends the overall system's lifespan. One of its key features is the ability to automatically clean itself.

How It Works?

Water enters the filter through the inlet and flows into the filter's chamber. The impurities get trapped on the inner wall of the filter screen, while the clean water flows out through the outlet. As more impurities accumulate on the screen, the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet reaches a preset value, or it’s time for a scheduled cleaning, or a manual command is given—the filter will then start the self-cleaning process. The entire cleaning process has two steps: first, the automatic drain valve on the filter opens.

Then, a motor drives a cleaning brush inside the filter screen, and the trapped impurities are flushed out through the drain valve. The system keeps running while it’s being cleaned, and the whole operation is controlled by an intelligent control box that comes with the filter. You can choose to control it by pressure difference, time, manual operation, or PLC control.
