What is An Automatic Backwash Filter

A fully automatic backwash filter is a device that utilizes a filter screen to directly intercept impurities in water, remove suspended solids and particulates, reduce turbidity, purify water quality, and minimize the formation of system fouling, algae, and corrosion. This ensures clean water and protects other equipment in the system to maintain normal operation.

The gear reducer drives the rotating arm through an intermediate shaft. The rotation angle of the arm is precisely controlled by infrared alignment to ensure accurate positioning with the filter element being cleaned. Once aligned, the drain valve opens, creating a pressure differential between the clean side (outside) and the dirty side (inside) of the filter element.

Under this pressure difference, the liquid on the clean side flows from the outside to the inside of the filter element, initiating the backwash process. Contaminants accumulated on the inside of the filter element are flushed out and discharged through the drain port N3.

The backwash duration for each filter element can be automatically adjusted according to process requirements. After the backwash is completed for one element, the drain valve closes, and the gear motor drives the washing arm to rotate to the next element. The drain valve reopens, and the next element undergoes backwashing. This sequence continues until each group of filter elements is cleaned.

In each full backwash cycle, a total of N-1 filter groups are cleaned. After the cycle ends, the rotating arm remains in the position of the last group (N-1), awaiting the next backwash cycle.
