A self-cleaning filter is a separation and filtration device that automatically removes particles from liquids under certain conditions. Different mesh specifications can be selected according to the required filtration particle size.

At present, as a new type of water treatment equipment, self-cleaning filters are increasingly used in applications such as raw water filtration, cooling water filtration, process water filtration, and wastewater treatment. They are most commonly used as pre-treatment (security filters) before ultrafiltration systems.

Working Principle

The raw liquid enters through the inlet and passes through the filter screen. Dirt and impurities in the liquid gradually accumulate on the inner side of the filter mesh, forming a filter cake, which results in a pressure difference between the inside and outside of the filter mesh.

When the pressure difference reaches the preset value, the system automatically starts the cleaning process, which continues without interrupting the flow. During cleaning, the drain valve opens, and an electric motor drives a stainless steel brush to rotate, thoroughly cleaning the entire inner surface of the filter mesh. The whole cleaning process takes only a few tens of seconds.
