What is a Brush Type Self Cleaning Filter
A brush-type self-cleaning filter is a highly efficient and intelligent fluid filtration device. Its core feature lies in the built-in rotating brush mechanism that automatically removes debris from the filter screen surface, enabling continuous filtration and automatic cleaning without interruption.
1. Working Principle
-
Filtration Phase: Liquid enters the filter through the inlet. Impurities are trapped on the inner surface of the cylindrical filter screen, while clean liquid flows out from the outer surface.
-
Self-Cleaning Phase: When the pressure differential reaches a preset value (or based on a timer), the motor drives a rotary brush to sweep along the inner wall of the filter screen. Simultaneously, the drain valve opens, discharging the accumulated impurities through the outlet. The cleaning process takes only a few seconds and does not require the system to shut down.
2. Key Advantages
-
Efficient and Continuous Operation: Cleaning does not interrupt filtration, making it ideal for high-flow or high-impurity conditions.
-
Low Maintenance Cost: Automated cleaning reduces manual labor and extends filter lifespan.
-
Energy & Water Saving: Compared to traditional filters, water consumption for backwashing is significantly reduced—up to 90% savings.
3. Application Scope
The brush-type self-cleaning filter is suitable for:
-
Industrial water, seawater, food processing, pharmaceuticals, and light chemical wastewater.
-
Recycled fluids such as emulsions, waste oils, and liquid raw materials.
-
Metallurgy: continuous casting water, high-pressure descaling water, circulating water for system filtration or side-stream filtration, and spray nozzle protection.
