How to Select an Automatic Backwash Filter
The selection of an automatic backwash filter should be based on the medium type, flow rate, pressure, and other parameters. Details are as follows:
-
Medium Type
Examples: fresh water, seawater, lubricating oil, etc.
For seawater or corrosive media, stainless steel or copper-nickel alloy materials are recommended. -
Filtration Accuracy
Common specifications: 50 μm, 100 μm, 200 μm, 300 μm, etc.
Selection should be based on the downstream equipment’s requirements for particle size of impurities. -
Flow Capacity
Single-unit handling capacity range: 10 m³/h ~ 3000 m³/h.
Pipe diameter and filter element area should be calculated according to the actual flow rate. -
Pressure Rating
Common ratings: PN10 / PN16.
Typical differential pressure control range: 0.1 ~ 0.2 bar. -
Control Method
Local automatic control or remote signal linkage.
Option to integrate with vessel monitoring systems (AMS, IAS, etc.). -
Structural Design
Flange or threaded connection.
Vertical or horizontal installation.
Single-cylinder or multi-cylinder (multiple filter elements) parallel configuration.
