How the Self Cleaning Filter Works
Working Principle
When wastewater enters through the inlet, it passes through a stainless steel sintered self-cleaning filter screen. Coarse particles are retained on the inner surface of the filter mesh, while the clean water flows from the inlet chamber to the outlet under the pressure of the incoming water. As filtration continues, impurities gradually accumulate on the filter screen, forming a layer of solids that increases the pressure differential between the inlet and outlet.
When the pressure drop reaches the preset value, the control system sends a signal to the solenoid valve to open the drain valve, discharging the waste to an unpressurized (atmospheric) drain line. This causes a sharp pressure drop inside the hydraulic motor chamber and suction scanner, initiating the suction process. The hydraulic motor is driven by water pressure, causing the suction scanner to rotate along its axis. The pressure released by the hydraulic piston, combined with the higher internal pressure of the filter, drives the suction scanner to move linearly.
The combination of rotation and linear movement thoroughly cleans the entire inner surface of the filter screen. Once the cleaning cycle is complete, the drain valve closes, water pressure increases again, and the hydraulic piston returns to its initial position — ready for the next cleaning cycle.
